True stories of career and job changes that led to a better self.

A former teacher finds her happy place.
From finance to beloved teacher, and back to finance.
We all know teachers are not properly compensated. They teach for the love of it. But, when the school board takes that fun away, and public education honors standardized testing over teaching, well, perhaps it is time to retire. It was no longer about teaching the students she loved. It was about meeting the numbers. Not wanting to sit curled up with her dogs all day, this amazing woman, well loved by students and parents alike, made a career change. Her first move, she opted for retirement from teaching.
Never did she think she would quit teaching. She planned on tutoring or working part time at a community college, but none of that panned out. Next, she looked back to her past and looked into going back into finance. Her first job did not fulfill her need, either for income, or joy.
Again, this dynamic lady made a change. Now, she is making more money. Does not have to bring her work home with her. In her 60s she is starting a new career in the world of finance she was in before she fell in love with teaching. She loves her new job. She does miss the students, but tries to meet them for lunch when she can.
Now she is a new securities and insurance registered lady and looking forward to enjoying her new, more prosperous, less stressful, life. She has found a new life after unemployment. Onward and Upward!
Would love to read from you if you have a happy career change story.
